Afterpay Australian Fashion Week has wrapped up for 2022; a visual escapade of low-rise, cut-outs & 90s aesthestic dominated the runways for the upcoming Resort ‘23 collections.

Be prepared, the low-rise waist is back and not going anywhere; the trend is in fact stronger than ever for these upcoming seasons. But not to fear, instead of the tight-fitting low-rise jeans in Y2K, we're seeing styles with wider, slouchier silhouettes like cargo pants and tailored trousers.

Sexy, slinky, sheer was the over-arching vibe for the Bec + Bridge show, in an ode to 90’s Kate Moss grunge, with modernised silky slip dresses, daring cut outs, sheer tops and major high splits.
Platform sandals are in, not to mention Bondi Born (available at David Jones) bringing back the iconic jelly sandal.

Exquisite embellishments are having a major moment, featured across the St Agni (available at David Jones) and Sass & Bide shows - the must-have accessory of the upcoming season to elevate any outfit (as seen on Hailey Beiber) is the sequin bralette to layer over shirts or under boxy blazers.
Tailoring reimagined with asymmetrical elements, lots of layering - skirts and dresses over pants to reinvent the suiting trend.

As for colour, plenty of prints and pops of neon greens, chartreuse, electric blue, lilac and candy pink splashed across the runways and street style. The perfect colours to inject into your wardrobe. Pair it with neutrals or go an all-tonal look.

I’m ready for a summer holiday now!
