Christmas Campaign for Starlight Children’s Foundation of Australia

This year’s campaign for the Starlight Children’s Foundation was a great success with $44,389 raised over the Christmas period; a 54% increase on last year’s fundraising.

Pacific Fair Shopping Centre would like to thank all of you who partnered with the Centre to achieve this – our customers, local businesses and retailers. Your generous donations and support will make a significant contribution to brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families across Australia.

One local boy, Karmine, is just one of the many children that the Starlight Foundation has impacted. Born with cerebral palsy, Karmine is also hearing impaired, experiences fatigue and severe headaches. At just 10 years, Karmine has visited the hospital six times in the last 12 months and undergone major surgery. During this time, Karime was granted a Starlight wish for a portable spa so he could play and undergo rehabilitation at the same time. Karime loves swimming with his friends and the warm water assists with his physiotherapy, helping the stiffness in his legs. Karime’s mum, Meredith says, “the spa will really help his condition and be fun for him at the same time. The Starlight Wish will last him a lifetime and really brighten up his life at a time when he really needs it.”
